Recipe: Cachapas - Tasty Venezuelan corn pancakes
Cachapas are thick, tasty pancakes made from maize (sweetcorn) and served with a slab of white cheese at street stalls all over Venezuela.
The usual way to make them is to grind the maize kernels through a special machine, which gives the cachapa mixture just the right consistency, and then cook them on a flat griddle plate.
Anybody living outside Venezuela should try this easy to follow

More Smiley Cards!
I think Smiley Cards is just too cute!! I am in love with it - I wish it had a handbook, but hopefully that will come. I made this card yesterday for my Dad - it was his birthday. It is a 5x5 card, and I think it is adorable!!

I used my brand new Scrappy Moms stamps . I am loving them! I used my Spots and Dots cuttlebug embossing folder to add a little interest to the bottom of the card - I couldn't find a patterned paper I liked. I wanted this to be a good "male card" given that it was for my dad's 66th birthday, but used an image that my kids chose, because they wanted to be a part of the card too. I hope this struck that balance. I also love just how easy this card was to create. 20 minutes from loading the cricut to saying to my husband "honey, look how cute this card is!"
A few challenges:
Made by Momo - embossing
My Time to Craft - quick and cute
Papertake Weekly - cards for boys/ men
Party Time Tuesdays - birthday anything goes
Little Red Wagon - use the color red
wee memories - happy birthday
2 Sisters - birthday
Crazy 4 Challenges - square cards
Crafty Cardmakers - embossing

You Rock!!
I spent a good part of yesterday, playing with the new Smiley Cards Cartridge, which is exclusive to the Gypsy. I made 3 cards with it, and it is too cute!! I will beposting one of the other ones later today, so be sure to check back :)
Today is challenge day over at Paper Playtime. The challenge is "You Rock" which you can interpret however you want. I saw the guitar on my Smiley Cards, and thought it was perfect!

Isn't that adorable? I wanted to make it really girlie, hence all the pink. The "you rock" is cut with Don Juan, at 1 inch. The paper is mostly a mix of SU and Creative Memories. The jewels do not look nearly so crooked in real life, but what can you do? The perfectionist in me is having issues, but I don't want to destroy my card...
I hope you all come over to Paper Playtime, and rock it out with us :)

Banner Blog Hop
Welcome to the Banner Blog Hop!! You probably came here from Melissa's beautiful blog. If not, you should start back at Alex's blog, and feast your eyes on all 21 of the beautiful banners we have prepared for you today. I am so excited to have you here, and to show you my holiday banner/

My son goes to French Immersion, and was so excited that he could read the banner I created!

Isn't this donkey just adorable! I cut him at 2.8 inches on my Gypsy. He is from Winter Frolic.

The navy stars are from Gypsy Wandering. I cut them each at 6 inches. The ornament is from Winter Frolic cut at 2 inches.

The font I used was Once Upon a Princess. I think it is a gorgeous and simple font. The little candy cane, cut at 2 inches, is from Christmas Cheer.

I adore the Nativity cuts on this cartridge, they are so cute and are loved by my children. I cut the Blessed Mother and Baby Jesus at 2.8 inches.

The snowflakes on the banner are all from Christmas Cheer cartridge. I used some Marthat Stewart glitter on all the letters, to give it some bling. I managed to get the glitter absolutely everywhere!

The little ornament, from Winter Frolic is cut at 2 inches. I have decided that Winter Frolic is my favorite new cartridge. The cuts are all so sweet.

The shepard is cut at 2.8 inches and the adorable sheep are cut at 2.3 inches. They were not originally meant to go on the same star, but in the end, I thought they looked cute together.
I was so happy with how my banner turned out. I think it is so cute, and reflects the true meaning of Christmas, which is so important for me to teach my children.
Now, onto my Blog Candy. I am giving away this lovely stamp set from Close to my Heart. I thought it was a perfect give away for my Christmas Banner. It is really easy to win this blog candy:

Brought to You by the Letter "S"
The challenge today at Cricut Cardz Challenge is to create a Christmas Card with something that starts with the letter S - santa, snowflake, sheperd... the possibilities go on and on. I chose snowman, and here is the card I made:

Cute, isn't it? I have been loving my Winter Frolic cartridge lately. Everything on it is so cute :) All 3 of these little snowmen are from that cartridge. The sentiment in from Stampin Up, and the paper is a mix - Stampin Up, Bazzil, stuff from my scrap box... and I used the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder.
I hope you head on over to Cricut Cardz Challenge and play along with us this week!
