School Days

Happy Thursday everyone!  My kids are heading back to school in about 3 weeks, so I have been working on some teacher gifts.  I have a quick little project to share with you today:

Andrew is going into Grade 5, and this year he has a male teacher.  I have never made presents for a boy teacher before.  I decided to make a gift card holder, and get him a gift card for somewhere - haven't quite figured it all out yet...  I got the inspiration for this design from one of my favorite people - Janis, she made the cutest bus card which you can see HERE.

I used Miss Emma's Gift Card Die to make the gift card.  The bus is cut from Doodlecharms as is the sun.  The road is from Every Day Paper Dolls, I manipulated the height of it on my Gypsy girl so it would fit on the base a little better.  The "School Days" sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps School Days set, and the "Just for you" sentiment is from Miss Emma's More Gift Card Sentiments set.  I doodled around on the card with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens.

I am really happy with how the card turned out, and Andrew likes it too.  I hope that his teacher likes it too - I hope it's an appropriate thing for a boy teacher.  Let me know if you think it isn't :)

A challenge or two for my little gift card:

Cricut Cardz Challenge - Critter Cuties

Happy Wednesday everyone!   It is challenge day over at Cricut Cardz Challenge.  Today Mary challenged us to make a card with a cute critter.  Here is what I came up with:

I just couldn`t choose one cute critter.  All four of my little cuties are cut from Create a Critter.  The stamps are all from Cardz TV Stamps Farmyard Funnies.  These little cards are all 3x3.  I decided to keep things VERY simple.  I doodled around the outside of each card and on each of the critters with my Sakura Jelly ROll pens.  The twine is all from Doodlebug.  I am generally a very simple crafter - but these are really simple, even for me :)

Hop on over to Cricut Cardz Challenge, see what the DT came up with, and play along with us - there might even be a prize for one lucky crafter ;)

A challenge or two for my cute little cards:

One Stitch at a Time - anything goes
Penny Black and More - with whiskers or wings

Exploring Cricut Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!  It is challenge day over at Exploring Cricut.  Today Diane challenged us to make a project using 2 cricut cuts and a Monogram.  This was a tricky one for me to be honest.  I thought long and hard before I came up with something I liked.  Here is the project I made:

At first glance, this may seem like I cheated, but I didn't :)  I used my Gypsy girl to magically weld 2 cuts into one.  The flower is from A Child's Year and the frame it is welded to, is from Lyrical Letters.  The monogram "T" is from Quarter Note.  You can't really tell in the pictures, but I inked around the edges with some color.  The flower is inked with pink and the stem and leaves are inked with green.  These are 4x4 cards.  I am loving that size, they a perfect for note cards.

Here is the set I made - they are going to be a simple back to school gift for my daughter's teacher.  I hope she likes them!

Hop on over to Exploring Cricut, see what the amazing DT came up with to inspire you, and be sure to play along with us.  There might even be a prize :)  Also, you should stop by Exploring Cricut every day, the DT members have daily inspiration for you!!

Exploring Cricut - Nurse Card

Happy Friday everyone!  If you are looking for my PDE Challenges submission, please click HERE.  It is my day for the daily post over at Exploring Cricut.  Each day one of the members of the DT, gets to share a project with you that they made using their Cricut.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't she adorable??  One of the girls at my work was retiring, and I wanted to make her a card.  I cut everything from EDPD, I just made the bandaid really big :)  Her face is from PK Happy Lashes.  I chalked in her cheeks with my SU chalks, and doodled on her with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens.  then I realized that I had no room for a sentiment!  I ended up stamping Happy Retirement inside the card.  I was thrilled how she turned out - I did discover that I need to make something bigger than an A2 sized card when I want a bunch of people to sign it...  Lesson learned :)

Be sure to pop over to Exploring Cricut everyday, there is always some wonderful inspiration for you there.  I hope you all have a safe and sunny weekend.  I'll be back on Monday with a new challenge from Exploring Cricut.

Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges - on the farm

Happy Friday everyone!  This is my first of two posts today.  It is challenge day over at PDE Challenges!  Today Janis challenged us to create a farm themed project.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't she a cutie?  I used my favorite cartridge Create a Critter to make this little cow and the cloud in the background.  The tag is from Platin Schoolbook and I think the grass is from EDPD.... hmm... yeah, I think so :)  The cutie stamp is from K Andrews Designs All About Animals set.  We call my daughter Miss Moo - so I just love that sentiment :)

There is a prize for one lucky person who plays along this week - Clear Dollar Stamps is giving one lucky person a $5 gift certificate!

So be sure to hop over to PDE Challenges and play along with us, and pop back here later this morning to see my Exploring Cricut post.

Paper Playtime - Hot and Spicy

Happy Monday everyone!  It is Delicious Die Cuts challenge day over at Paper Playtime, where we are given a theme, and challenged to use a die-cutting machine to fulfill it :)  Janis gave us a great one this week - Hot and Spicy - it can be interpreted however you want - weather, food, culture, sexy... Here is what I came up with:

I must admit, I was a bit stumped here.  I had an idea, but I didn't have anything on my cartridges that matched the idea in my head.  Then I decided to take a turn and go for a sexy card - my husband actually laughed at me when I told him that - I am so not a "sexy" kind of girl...  In the end, I thought about the things that I love that are hot and spicy - a great big bowl of chili came to mind.  My mum makes chili in an old dark blue Le Creuset pot, hence this card was born.

This is a 4x4 card.  I cut the pot from From My Kitchen and her cutie little face is from PK Princess Faces.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's A Pinch and a Dash stamp set.  I doodled around with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens.  All the paper is from CTMH and the ribbon is from SU.

There is a prize this week for one lucky participant, The Robin's Nest is going to give one fortunate person a $15 gift certificate - they have some great stuff there!!

Hop on over to Paper Playtime, see what the DT came up with to inspire you and play along with us.  You could win a great prize :)

The Great Outdoors

Happy Saturday!  I know I don't usually post on Saturdays, but my son leaves for camp again tomorrow, and I wanted to post his card before I forgot to take a picture of it.  He loves getting my cards when he's away - he always tries to get a sneak peek.  Here is what I came up with this time:

Ever since I got Camping Critters last year, Andrew has been after me to cut this skunk.  He thinks it's so funny, with the little bit of toilet paper stuck to his foot...  It seemed like the perfect cut for a camp card!  The sun is from Doodlecharms.  The sentiment is from Pink by Design's Canada Set.   The paper is a mix of Bazzil and Recollections, and I tore the brown paper to make it look like rugged ground.  I doodled around the card with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens.  The googly eyes were from the dollar store.

I was really pleased with how the card turned out, and I hope Andrew loves it too.

A challenge or two for my cute card:
Fantabulous Cricut - camping theme
Fat pages and Cards with Attitude - anything goes
Moving Along with the Times - summer
Creative Belli - vacation or travel
Everybody Art - summer
Cupcake Craft - the great outdoors
