Mum's Monogram Card

Happy Thursday everyone!  So, as I said last week, I made my Mum some monogram cards for her birthday.  Here they are:

These are 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.  The "D" is from Quarter Note - I just love the font on that cartridge, it is so pretty! The shape the D is on, is cut from Elegant Edges.  The pink layer, is 4x4 and is embossed with Cuttlebug's Victorine folder.  You'll notice that I used 2 different ribbons.  I originally went with the pink, but found it was getting lost.  I tried the black, and liked that one better, so the last 4 have the black ribbon.  I used my pink Round it All to round the corners.  Mum really liked them!

A challenge or two for my cards:
Waste not Wednesday - everything to create these cards except for the case, came from my scrap box
Paper Take Weekly - anything goes
Bunny Zoe Crafts - anything goes
Hybrid Chick Card Caravan - use pink
Secret Crafter - anything goes

I'll be back tomorrow with the latest challenge from Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges, so be sure to come back and visit me then :)

52 Weeks of Tags - Acrostic

Happy Friday!  It is challenge day over at 52 Weeks of Tags.  Today's challenge was a doozy!  Janis challenged us to make an acrostic with our name.  Michelle is a really long name, and trying to fit it on a tag was a real challenge!  Here is what I came up with:

The tag is from Plantin Schoolbook, the tulips are from Walk in my Garden and the font is from Quarter Note.  I typed all the words out on the computer.  The paper is mostly CTMH.  Despite the challeneges, I am really happy with how this turned out :)

Please hop over to Pause Dream Enjoy, check out what the DT came up with, and play along with us!!

A challenge or two for my little tag:
Aud Sentiments - spring colors
Card and Scrap - use flowers
My Mojo Monthly - tagology

More Subway Style Art

Last week I showed the plaque I made for my mum. Today I am showing the plaque I made for my baby sister. Leslie is a doctorate student all the way across the country in British Columbia. She is studying Ethno-musicology at UBC, and spends a lot of time in Indonesia studying Gamelan. She is hard to buy for, so I decided to make her this plaque to help decorate her apartment:

The blue is not what I envisioned, but on the whole I am really happy with it! It uses lots of cartridges: Baby Steps, George and Basic Shapes, Gypsy Font, Lyrical Letters, Opposites Attract, Quarter Note, Robotz and Storybook. I designed her on my Gypsy girl - couldn't live with out her. I cut out the vinyl and adhered it to another plaque from Walmart. It has lots of wonderful musical terms and I hope Les loves it, and thinks of me when she looks at it!

Thanks for stopping by today.
