52 Days of Tags - Favorite Songs

Happy Friday everyone!  It is challenge day over at 52 Weeks of Tags.  Today Janis challenged us to make a tag with our favorite song.  here is what I came up with:

So I love Christmas.  It is my favorite time of the year, so I guess it follows that I LOVE Christmas Carols.  Some of my favorites are In the Bleak MidWinter, The Nativity Carol and Silent Night.  I just find them meaningful and peaceful.  The simple tag above is from Plantin Schoolbook, Baby Jesus and the star are from Winter Frolic and the sentiment is My Pink Stamper.  Baby Jesus's cute little face is Peachy Keen's Boy Mates.

I hope you hop on over to Pause Dream Enjoy and see what songs inspire the rest of the DT, and play along with us!

A challenge for my little tag:

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Thursday!  I am back with a cute birthday card I made for my daughter to bring to a party on Saturday.  One of her classmates is turning 6, here is what I made for her:

So, this is actually a window card, but I wanted Gabs to be able to write a note to her friend, so I covered up the window from the inside with a piece of white cardstock - kind of takes away the window...  Anyway, the scalloped circle is from Elegant Edges.  It is a frame and a scalloped circle welded together.  The kitty hopping out of the cake and the number 6 are from Birthday Bash, and are welded to the frame.  The cute little face on the kitty is from Peachy Keen's Critter Faces, and the sentiment is from Whimsical Designs Everyday Designs.  I hope Gabrielle's friend really likes her :)

A challenge or two for my little card:
DRS Designs - shaped card
Moving Along With the Times - cute and cuddly
Partytime Tuesdays - anything goes
Opus Gluei - critters
Robyn's Fetish - kids cards

Easter Stitches with Peachy Keen

Hi everyone, I'm back with a second post for today, can you believe it?  A couple of weeks ago, I spent a day taking classes at my LSS The Cutting Garden.  The classes were coloring classes - one with chalks and one with color pencils.  I had a great time.  Later that week, I got some happy mail from Peachy Keen.  A few weeks ago, I won Top Peach.  My prize was Spring Bouquet.  As soon as I opened it, I knew I had to color it.  Peachy Keen's challenge this week is to use faux stitching.  Any of you who visit my blog regularly, will know that I use faux stitching ALOT.  I decided that this week, I would use my new Peachy Keen stamp, to enter the peachy Keen challenge.  Here is what I came up with:

So, I colored this with my PrismaColor Pencils, and used Gamsol to blend it.  I sparkled her up with a few Stickles, just to add a little bit of bling.  I am pretty happy with how this turned out - I need some experience, but it is pretty :)  The sentiment is part of the Spring Bouquet set, it is a gorgeous set of stamps.  Thank you Peachy Keen!

I followed this weeks sketch from Splitcoast Stampers - SCS 378.  The pic is pretty small, but you can find it HERE.   I stuck pretty closely to it.  I decided to use a button instead of the oval piece.

Thanks for visiting again today!  I have a couple more projects that I am working on this week!  I am having so much fun back in my craft room - it is great to have my mojo back!!!

A challenge or two for my Easter card:

Cricut Cardz Challenge - Frame It

Happy Wednesday!  It is challenge day over at Cricut Cardz Challenge.  Today, Mary challenged us to  "frame it".  We were to use a frame found on any Cricut Cartridge.  Well, after last week's record high temperatures, Nova Scotia has returned to our typical cold a dreary weather.  I decided that I need to make a springy card, with cheerful colors.  Here is what I came up with:

She is a spinner card!  Don't you love her??  She is cut from Simply Charmed.  The card base and circle below are both from George and Basic Shapes.  Her face is stamped from Peachy Keen Princess Faces.

I followed a tutorial from Glora, and you can find that HERE.  She is framed by cuts from Elegant Edges.  This cute little face is from PK Wide Eyed Kids.

Another of her faces... isn't she adorable??  This face is also  from my favorite PK Princess Faces.  The paper is from my scrap box, but is mostly a mix of SU and Recollections.  I doodled with my Sakura Gel pen.

Here is her final face, PK Princess Face again.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Wednesday Everyday Sentiments.  I used some twine from my LSS along the side - it looks better in person :)

So, be sure to hop over to Cardz TV, see what the Cricut Cardz DT came up with, and play along with us!

A challenge or two for my cute little card:

Cute Card Thursdays - anything goes
Paper Crafting Journey - pretty pastels
Paper Play - spring colors
Creative Mondays - anything goes

Getting on the Right Track

So, I have decided that the time has come to be honest about my weight, and my need to get rid of it.  I have about 30 lbs on that I need to shed.  The last time I lost a good amount of weight, was after Gabrielle was born.  I gained about 65 lbs when I was pregnant with her.  It took a long time, but was able to lose 80 lbs.  Unfortunately close to half of that has snuck back on over the past few years.  I found it VERY helpful last time to write down all my food.  I decided to make a food diary that I would be excited to write in every day.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't this adorable??  The pizza is from Simply Charmed, the carrot and apple are both from Create a Critter.  The title is cut from Baby Step, I welded it on my Gypsy Girl first.  I used a stamp from Whimsical Designs - Whimsical Fun stamp set - I love that Yummo stamp!  The cute little Peachy Keen faces are from Boy Mates and Happy Lashes.  I doodled the food up with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens.  I bought some twine last week at my LSS - The Cutting Garden, and I used that to add the final touch for my Food Journal.  Here is a close up of that cute little pizza from Simply Charmed.  Love it :)

I have been using my Journal faithfully this past week.  I have lost 2.6 lbs already!  Yay me!  I have a ton more to go, but at least this is a start...  I hope you all had a good weekend.  I will have a few more projects for you this week, so I hope you come back to visit again soon.

52 Weeks of Tags - Purchases

Happy Saturday everyone!  This was supposed to be posted yesterday, and I completely forgot!!  Oops...  better late than never :)  It was challenge day yesterday over at 52 Days of  Tags.  Janis challenged us to make a tag about our last or next major purchase.  Here is what I came up with:

So, our last, and probably next major purchase was a car.  This little car is from Sweethearts.  I think it's so cute!  I used a stamp form With Love by Whimsical Designs.  I think it's perfect for this little tag - financial life has not always been the easiest for Mike and I, but together we have been able to face those challenges, and are coming out the other side.  The paper is Stampin Up plus stuff from my scraps box and the ribbon is from Michaels.

I hope you all pop over to Pause, Dream, Enjoy - see what our DT came up with, and play along with us in this week's tag challenge.  I hop you all have a great weekend!  See you again soon :)

Whimsical Spring

Happy Wednesday everyone :)  I am sorry this post is a couple of hours late, my card didn't auto post, I have been having issues with it lately....  It is design team day over at Whimsical Wednesdays.  Today Stephanie challenged us to make a spring card.  Here is what I came up with:

The butterflies are from a CTMH set.  I colored them with my Prisma Color pencils and stickled them up to make them a little sparkly.  The oval and scallop were cut on my Cricut - the Oval and Scalloped Oval are both from Gypsy Wanderings.  I embossed the cream layer with my Swiss Dots embossing folder, and used my Martha Stewart Cutting Board to emboss the three parallel lines.  The pink ribbon in the corner is from Michael's and I used Whimsical Designs Everyday Sentiments in the corner.  I think this is such a pretty and versatile stamp set.

I hope you pop over to Whimsical Designs, see what the DT came up with, and play along with us.  I know their projects will be gorgeous :)  This the last challenge for now at Whimsical Wednesdays.  Stephanie has decided to take a well deserved break.  I want to thank her for the opportunity to be on her team, and create with her beautiful stamps.

A few challenges for my card:
My Craft Spot - spring scallops
Dorcerela Creations - pastel colors
Really Reasonable Ribbon - spring with ribbon
Little Claire's - spring
Totally Gorjuss - spring

Cute eh?  This uses Hero Arts Four Dolls set and Arigato set.  I colored everything with my Prisma Colors.  The patterned paper is from an old PC Stack that I bought when our Michael's first opened, and the card stock is a mix of SU and Recollections.  The bling is from my stash.  I am happy with how this cute little card turned out.  Here is the picture of the sketch we were to follow:

52 Weeks of Tags - green

Happy Friday everyone!  We are nearing the end of March Break, and my kiddies head back to school Monday.  It is challenge day over at 52 Weeks of Tags.  Today Janis challenged us to create a green tag.

OK - confession time.  Green is my favorite color - well that and pink.  Part of me has been so excited about all these green challenges over the past few weeks, but at the same time I have been stumped.  I have felt as though I should be making St Patrick's Day cards- but I kind of don't get it.  What's the big deal about St Patrick's Day?  I certainly don't send cards for that occasion.  I don't drink green beer, or any beer at all for that matter...  It's all cute and fun, but it has been giving me crafter's block - that's a real thing I'm sure...  Once I decided to forget about the St Patrick's angle, and just make green cards, things got better :)  So I made this tag in honor of my son - he likes icky, slimy things...  Here is what I came up with:

The tag is from Plantin Schoolbook, cut at 4 inches, and the cute little lizard is from Boys Will be Boys.  I added some Googly eyes and a cute sentiment from Whimsical Design's Whimsical Fun stamp set.  The paper is all from my scrap box.  I am such a hoarder of paper, that I am trying to use what I have before I buy anymore - well within reason :)

I hope you all hop over to Pause Dream Enjoy, see what the rest of the DT has come up with, and play along with us.  There is a great prize for one lucky person who plays along in March!

A challenge or two for my little tag:
Simon Says Stamp - green
Anything Goes - boys to men
Use it Tuesday - green (my hoarded item is my paper)
Critter Sketch - use only green (hopefully the black ink doesn't count)
My Craft Spot - manly man cards (boys are little men, right?)

Flowers for my Mother

Happy Thursday everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying a beautiful day :)  I have a project that I made today WITHOUT my Cricut - I know, shocking, right?  I do love her...  however, Emma, over at My Creative Time, challenged us to a project without our Cricut, and I decided to take her up on that.  Here is what I came up with:

I made this gift card holder with Emma's Gift Card Holder Die, and also used her More Gift Card Sentiments Set.  Don't they co-ordinate perfectly?  I hand cut the leaves, and hand cut the flowers and rolled them.  They were so much easier than I thought, and while not perfect, I am pretty happy with how they turned out :)  I followed a video I saw on You Tube HERE.  The ribbon is from Michael's.

Here is a side view of my flowers, so you can see just how much dimension they have.  maybe I don't need one of those cartridges that makes flowers...   I chose the colors of green, white and various shapes of pink so that i could play along with Getting Cricky's Simply Sunday Challenge.

I am going to get my Mum a movie gift card, and give it to her for Mother's Day.  I think she'll love it :)  Thanks for visiting today.  Be sure to come back tomorrow, I will have a tag to show you for 52 Weeks of Tags.  See ya then!

There are so many challenges out there that my gift card could play along with, here are some of them:
My Creative Time - cricutless
Simply Sunday - green, white and one other color (shades of pinks)
My Mum's Craft Shop - mother's day
Papertake Weekly - for the girls or mum
Dream Valley - mother's day
All Sorts - say it with flowers
Craft Your Days Away - mother's day
Crafts 4 Eternity - special mum
Crafty Catz - mother's day

Animal Book

I'm back with another Wednesday post.  If you are looking for my Cricut Cardz Challenge submission, you can find it HERE, or just scroll down to the next post...  So, this is my submission for this week's Peachy Keen - Anything Goes Challenge.  I debated about what to do for this challenge.  My daughter has been wanting me to make her something with lots of animals for a while.  She is in primary, in French Immersion, and is learning to read, so Gabrielle and I decided to make a book.  It is in French, and uses Create a Critter and lots of cute Peachy Keen faces :)   It is designed to help her with her colors and learn the names of the animals in french.  Gabs chose the animals and decided on all the colors - I have spent the last few days getting it cut out.

The base of the book is cut from Elegant Edges using the book function.  The title is cut from Alphalicious.  the animals are all from Create a Critter.  The Peachy Keen Stamps used are from  Boy Mates, Princess Faces and Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed.  The book is titled "The Animals".

The shape on each page is from Elegant Edges.  I just bought that cartridge and I love it!  The pup and all of the other cuts are from Create a Critter.  the faces are from Critter Faces and Boy Mates.  The text says, "Here is a dog.  The dog is black and white"

Each page of the book is made out of cereal boxes.  Crafting is my favorite way to recycle :)  The owl is from Create a Critter and the faces are from Critter Faces and Boy Mates.  The text says "Here is an owl.  the owl is blue"

The fish and all other cuts are from Create a Critter.  The stamp is from Critter Faces.  I put it at a bit more of an angle than I had planned, but he's still cute :)  The text says "Here is a fish.  The fish is green"

Almost every piece of paper used for this whole project came out of my scrap boxes.  With my Cricut, I almost never throw paper away.  I can use big pieces and small pieces of scrap.  I must say, this project made a dent in my scraps boxes.  The super cute purple skunk is from CAC, as are the cloud and the stump.  The faces are from Wide Eyed Kids, and Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed.  The text reads "Here is a skunk.  The skunk is purple."

The sheep is from CAC.  The fence is from EDPD and the grass is from somewhere - I will have to look at my Gypsy to figure out where.  The face is from Critter Faces.  It reads "Here is a sheep.  The sheep is grey."

Again CAC for all the cuts.  The faces are from Princess Faces and Boy Mates.  The text says "Here is a bee.  The bee is yellow and black."

I know, shocking, most cuts are all from CAC, the grass is from Easter 2010.  The faces are Critter Faces and Wide Eyed Kids.  This page says "Here is a Pig.  The pig is pink."

This ducky is one of my favorite cuts from CAC.  His little face is from Critter Faces.  The text says "Here is a duck.  The duck is yellow and orange."

I wish I had moved this cute cow's face over about 3 cm.  It would have centered her a little better, but I think she's cute anyway.  The cut is from CAC - I will have to check on the grass - I should know this, but I looked at SO many grass on so many cartridges, that I'm not sure where it came from :)  Her cutie face is from Critter Faces.  The text says "Here is a cow.  The cow is brown and white."

last page :)  This little girl and all her cuts are from EDPD.  Her face is from Wide Eyed Kids.  It reads "Here is a girl, who's name is Gabrielle.  She has a red dress.  She love all the animals"  I typed up the little story on the computer, and used my Bind It All to bind it.  Voila - MANY hours later, my daughter has a new book!

She plans to bring it to school Monday, once March Break is over, and show it to her teacher and all her friends.  She has already read it to me twice, and is currently up reading it to her brother :)  I love how my crafting can be special for the whole family!  Hope you all like my little book.  See you back soon!

A challenge or two:
Peachy Keen - anything goes
Crafty Ann's - anything but a card
Hiding in My Craft Room - use up your scraps
Pink Cricut - link up party

Cricut Cardz - Wearing of the Green

Happy Wednesday every one!  It is mid-March Break here is Nova Scotia, so my crafting time has been a bit limited.  Maybe, next week :)  Today is Cricut Cardz Challenge #104 - Wearing of the Green.  Mary challenged us to use any cartridge to make a card who's main color is green.   Here is what I came up with:

Isn't it cute??  So, this is a simple 3.5x3.5 card.  I cut the shamrock from Paper Doll Dress up, and Peachied him up with PK Boy Mates, and doodled with my Sakura Jelly Roll pen.  The border and stamped sentiment are from My Creative Time stamps.  I adore this set that Emma created called Small Talk.  It comes with a ton of sentiments, and they all fit perfectly in that little space.  Awesome, huh?  The paper is mostly Stampin Up and the ribbon is from Michael's.

Hope on over to Cricut Cardz Challenge, see what the rest of the DT came up with to inspire you, and be sure to play along with us!  Thanks for dropping in today, I hope to be back later this afternoon, with a project that I have been working on since last week - it is almost done, so hopefully the kids will let me have a little crafting time today.

52 Tags - Vacation

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend!  March Break starts here this weekend, and the kids are looking forward to a week off.  Unfortunately my daughter has an ear infection and started on antibiotics last night.  Hopefully she'll be feeling better soon, so we can do some fun things later in the week.

I am back today with my DT submission for 52 Weeks of Tags.  Janis challenged us to create a tag about our last or next vacation.  Our family's favorite vacation spot is White Point Beach.  It is right on the Atlantic Ocean, is famous for it's bunnies, and is the most peaceful place in the world I know.  Here is what I came up with:

My tag was cut from Plantin School Book at 4 inches.  The bunny is from Easter 2010.  The sun is punched with a circle punch and inked with my SU ink spots to make it look like a sun set.  The brown paper, which looks like sand is from Creative Memories, and all the blue paper in the ocean is from my scrap box.  I doodled with my Sakura Jelly Roll pen, and the stamps is from Whimsical Design's Whimsical Fun Vol 1.

Doesn't it look like an amazing spot?  Sadly, they had a fire which destroyed the Main Lodge (the building in the background of the first picture) just after our last trip there for Thanksgiving last year.  They are rebuilding, but we will miss our annual trip this year.  When the kids saw the tag, they knew instantly that it was White Point, and were sad, but happy to think of all the good times we have had there, and the good times we will continue to have there starting again next year.

I hope you all go over to Pause Dream Enjoy, and play along with us, remembering you last, next or favorite vacation destination :)  Don't forget that there is some blog candy to be won by anyone who plays along in march!

A Challenge or two for my little tag:
More Than Favors - vacation
Paper Minutes - blue, white and black
For Your Inspiration - photo inspiration
Crafting When We Can - animals
