Pause Dream Enjoy - Music

Happy Friday everyone!  Today is going to be a VERY busy day for my little blog.  3 post, yup 3 of them!  So be sure to drop in and see them all - my Exploring Cricut Hospital Survival Kit is HERE, and my Cardz TV Christmas Planner is HERE.  Today is challenge day at PDE Challenges.  Janis challenged us to create a project with music.  I grew up surrounded by music.  My parents are both classically trained musicians, and I sang in lots of choirs and played the Cello, so music is a huge part of my life.  Here is what I came up with:

The tag is from Plantin Schoolbook and the notes are from Quarter Note.  The faces are from Peachy Keen's Princess Faces and the sentiment is from Whimsical Design's Whimsical Fun.  The paper and ribbon are both from Michael's and I doodled around with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens.

This week's sponsor is Heather Ellis with 3 digital images to the lucky winner!

So pop on over to PDE Challenges, see what the DT came up with, and play along with us!

A challenge or two for my cute tag:
Kaboodle Doodles - music, dance the arts
Ladybug Crafts - anything goes
The Craft Place - black and white

This project is a cute little tea bag holder.  I found the tutorial for it HERE.  Hmm, I just realized that I haven't taken a picture of the envelopes that hold the tea bags, I will have to do that later - cause the inside is super cute :)  The tea pot is from Savory cartridge and the paper is all from CTMH.  The ribbon is from Michael's.  This is the perfect little gift for a friend of mine who is having surgery next week.  She and I get together for tea, whenever our schedules allow.

This is another 4x4 card.  I am loving that size card!  The cricut cut is from Winter Frolic.  I cutied up her face with my favorite PK stamps - this face is from Wide Eyed Kids - love it :)  The paper and ribbon is all from Michael's and I did some doodling around with my Sakura Jelly Toll pens.

Just Like Mama

Happy Thursday everyone!  I have a card to share with you today that isn't mine - it was created by my 6 year old daughter, Gabrielle.  Her best friend is turning 7 tomorrow, and Gabrielle wanted to make a card for her.  Here is what she came up with:

Isn't that cute??  When I am crafting, it is the only time that Gabrielle tells me she wants to be just like me when she grows up...  She chose the image and all the stamps - I cut it out with my Cricut, but she put it all together.  Look at all the doodling she did - can't tell she's my kid can you??  She stamped everything herself.  I cut out the paper with my trimmer, but she came up with the design, chose all the colors, decided where the ribbon was going - she is now familiar with My Pink Stampers "cheater method".  I tied the bow and hot glue gunned it on, but she did the embossing, put on the bling and learned how to use my ATG gun.  She was so proud of how her card turned out!

I am going to enter this into a few challenges on her behalf - proud mama that I am, and I know she would love to read your comments :)

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It is challenge day over at Cricut  Cardz Challenge.  Mary challenged us to a color challenge - I tend to have a bit of a hard time with color challenges, but this is a good one!  You need to make a card with red, yellow and blue - you can use a little bit of white and black too.  Here is what I came up with:

Don't ya love it??  I use the cute little crab from Life's a Beach.  I drew in the pupils with a black pen, because I felt like he needed them.  The sun is from Doodlecharms and the clouds and from...  hmmm... I will have to check my Gypsy girl... cause I just don't remember - LOL!  The waves were made by ripping a bunch of blue paper.  I doodled around the card with my Sakura Jelly Roll pen.  The cute little sentiment is from K Andrew's Designs Summertime Splash.

Exploring Cricut - Back to School

Happy Monday everyone!  It is challenge day over at Exploring Cricut.  The challenge today is to make a back to school project.  This is a gift I made for my daughter's teacher.  She is starting Grade 1 next week.  Now, before I get started, let me say, this is not my original idea.  I made one of these last year, for her Primary teacher and originally got the idea from the always amazing Ruthie right HERE.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't it awesome?  It is made with 2 boxes of 24 crayons.  I bought some on sale last year, and have been hording them since then.  The crayons are hot glued onto a ring that I created on my Gypsy girl, by inlaying a 5 inch circle with an 8 inch circle and cutting 4 rings out of cereal boxes and gluing them together - just like that a wreath ring...  All of the cuts are from the Recess cartridge, which I love.  The wording is all in french, because the kids are both in French Immersion,

I decided to make this year's name sign look like a black board.   I cut the blackboard shape out of George and Basic Shapes, and the name is cut from Making the Grade.  I bought the ribbon at Michael's and popped it on with some hot glue.

I love how it turned out, and I hope Gabrielle's teacher likes it too.

Be sure to pop over to Exploring Cricut, see what the DT came up  inspire you and play along with us.

Super Mario!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  The end of my vacation is nearly upon me - it has been wonderful and relaxing.  Yesterday, I took the kids to the Valley and we went Blueberry picking.  Last night, Mike and I made 20 jars of jam - which is about a third of the jars I will be making before I go back to work, but more about that in another post.

Today I am sharing a cute little card I made a week or so ago.  Andrew had a birthday party to go to and he asked me to make a Super Mario card.  What?  There isn't a cartridge that has Super Mario - it was one of the few moments I wished I had SVG cutting ability.  Then, I put my thinking cap on, and thought, I can do this...  I can create something.  Here is what I came up with:

It turned out pretty cute, didn't it?  I couldn't figure out a way to create Mario or Luigi, but those little mushrooms, I can do that!  I grabbed my Gypsy girl, and using George and Basic Shapes, I welded a few shapes together and VOILA a Mario mushroom.  The "M" - which is meant to be the Mario symbol, is from the Mickey font.  I did a little bit of shadowing on the mushroom with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink. The paper is mostly from Recollections, and I did some doodling with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens, and used my TPC Studio Greeting set for the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.  It's a great basic sentiment set.

Andrew was so excited when he got home, and saw I had made a Mario card, and I think it was a hit with his friends too.  Last weekend he had a play date with one of the other boys who was at the party.  That little boy has a birthday party coming up on August 31st and he asked me to make him the same card :)

A challenge or two for my cute card:
Sassy Cheryl's - happy birthday
