52 Weeks of Tags - home

Happy Friday everyone!  Today is challenge day over at 52 Weeks of Tags.  This week Janis challenged us to create a project with a house on it - any kind of house.  I chose a dog house - here is what I came up with:

Isn't it ca-ute??  The tag base is from Plantin Schoolbook, and the puppy and her dog house are from Create a Critter (my favorite!!)  Her adorable little face is from Peachy Keen's Critter Faces.  The sentiment is from Close to my Heart - it was an old stamp of the month..  I doodles with my Sakura jelly roll pens, and the paper is all Recollections

This month there is a prize!!  One of our wonderful DT members, Darlene from Simple Southern Blessings is giving away this to one lucky US resident who played along with us in April...

Echo Park's SWEET SUMMERTIME paper pack - it is GORGEOUS!!  I wish I could win it :)  So, be sure to link up below, or over at Pause Dream Enjoy, where you can see what our talented team came up with :)

A challenge or two for my little tag:
Crafting for all Seasons - anything but a card
Belli Challenge - animal
Creative Craft Challenges - animal antics
365 Cards - white, black and 2 other colors (white, black, light pink and dark pink)

Peachy Birdie

Happy Wednesday!  I must admit, I am feeling a bit under the weather, and was considering NOT playing along with Peachy Keen this week.  It is a color challenge too, and I find those very challenging - well unless they are in my favorite colors - say pink and brown??  I have been on a roll though, and wanted to try to play every week in April - this is the last week, so I decided to play.  Here is what I came up with:

This is a 4x4 card.  I used the SU bird bunch for the main image, I punched her out 5 times, I wanted her to have a little yellow beak, so I created one for her.  I have owned this punch for at least 2 years, and have NEVER used it - don't tell my husband...  I peachied the bird using an eye from PK Critter Faces, and used a sentiment from PK Spring Bouquet.  The paper is all from my scrap box, mostly a mix of SU and Recollections.  The ribbon, is actually yellow, but it's a bit hard to see that - it is from Michael's.

Here is the picture that PK got their color inspiration from.  Not at all my usual colors, but I feel OK about my card.

A challenge or two for my little card:
Peachy Keen - color challenge
Oldie But A Goodie - in the garden or on the farm - my birdie could be either I guess :)
Shopping Our Stash - use an element that starts with "b" (bird punch)
Make My Monday - birds or animals

52 Weeks of Tags - Acrostic

Happy Friday!  It is challenge day over at 52 Weeks of Tags.  Today's challenge was a doozy!  Janis challenged us to make an acrostic with our name.  Michelle is a really long name, and trying to fit it on a tag was a real challenge!  Here is what I came up with:

The tag is from Plantin Schoolbook, the tulips are from Walk in my Garden and the font is from Quarter Note.  I typed all the words out on the computer.  The paper is mostly CTMH.  Despite the challeneges, I am really happy with how this turned out :)

Please hop over to Pause Dream Enjoy, check out what the DT came up with, and play along with us!!

A challenge or two for my little tag:

Peachy Bunny

Surprise, surprise!  I am back with another post today.  I have been loving the Peachy Keen Challenges, and have played along with many of them so far this year.  This week, Anything Goes is the theme, as long as you use a Peachy stamps, you can play along.  here is what I came up with:

So, this is the cute little window card that I gave my daughter for Easter.  It is a window card, I followed a tutorial from She's a Sassy Lady.  The card base was welded from shapes on Elegant Edges.  I then welded the bunny shadow from Simply Charmed to the frame, and the carrot shadow from From My Kitchen.  I used my daughters favorite colors - purple and pink as the primary colors for this card.

Isn't her little face FABULOUS!!  It is from Wide Eyed Kids, I so LOVE that stamp set - it makes everything so adorable!  I doodled on the card with my Sakura pens, and colored in her cheeks with my Stampin Up chalks.  The "happy easter" stamp is from Close to my Heart.  The paper is a mix of Bazzil, Stampin Up, CTMH and Recollections, mostly from my scraps box.

Gabrielle loved her cute little bunny card, and I was really happy with how it turned out.  I think these window cards are SO cute!!  I will have to make more.

A challenge or two for my cute little bunny card:
Peachy Keen - anything goes
Hooked on Crafts - easter
That Craft Place - anything but a square/ rectangle
Card Makin Mamas - make it girlie

A Brolly for Two

Happy Wednesday!  It is challenge day over at Cricut Cardz Challenge.  Today Mary challenged us to use any cartridge to make an "April Showers" card.  Here is what I came up with:

The umbrella was cut at 3.55 inches from Paisley Cartridge - the shadow was MUCH bigger than I thought, but it still gives a nice contrast. The sentiment, which I LOVE is from Impression Obsession's Get Well Wishes stamp set.  The paper is mostly CTMH - I have been hanging on to this patterned paper for ever :)  I used D'vine Swirls to emboss the the pink layer, and the brown ribbon is from Michael's.

Hope on over to Cricut Cardz Challenge, see what the talented DT came up with to inspire you, and please play along with us!

A challenge or two for my little card:
Scrap-Creations - april showers
Shopping our Stash - april showers
Frosted Designs - weather
Paper Creations Ink - april showers
Fantabulous Cricut - april showers

It's Paper Playtime!!

Happy Monday :)  I was honored to be ask to be a guest designer over at Paper Playtime this week - thanks Janis!  The challenge this week was to create a birthday card with a sentiment.  My son turns 10 next week, so I decided to make a card for him.  Here is what I came up with:

I decided to make Andrew a spinner card.  I have made two of them before HERE and HERE, and they were both girly cards.  Andrew wanted one too,  so I came up with this.  I followed a tutorial on Glora's blog.  I created the base of the card using shapes from George.  The stars are from CAC (I think...) and the moon is a bunch of circles from George.  I sponged around the edges to give the moon a bit of dimension.  His cutie little face is from Peachy Keen's  Wide Eyed Kids.

I cut the little astronautboy from B is for Boy, and his hair is from Everyday Paper Dolls.  Andrew loves the whole idea of space and space travel.  His face is from Peachy Keen's Boy Mates.  Isn't he cute?  The paper I used is from Stampin Up, Recollections and random paper from my scrap box.  The twine is from Doodle Bug Designs.

This final face is also from Boy Mates.  I used Whimsical Designs Whimsical Fun and Everyday Sentiments for the sentiments on the card.  Andrew and I used to say "I love you to the moon and back" every night before he went to bed, he will still do it sometimes when he is feeling lovey :)  I love how this turned out, and I hope that Andrew will too!

So, hop on over to Paper Playtime, and be sure to play along with us :)  I am sure the DT will inspire you with all of their amazing projects!

A challenge or two for my little card:
Paper Playtime - birthday and a sentiment
One Stop Craft - 3 circles
Just Some Lines - moon and stars
Our Creative Corner - our boys and their toys

Inside Out

Happy Sunday everyone!!  I have a new project to share with you today.  As some of you know, I have been doing some coloring lately, using chalk and colored pencils.  These are new techniques for me, and I have been enjoying playing with them.  I got some new stamps for my birthday too, and they work perfectly with my new coloring skills - imperfect though they may be.  Here is my card.

Sadly, this card was needed.  I attended a funeral this past week for a beautiful and kind woman who died of cancer,  she was only a couple of years older than me, and her children slightly younger than mine.  It was a sad, but beautiful celebration of her life.  I made this card for her family.

The flower stamp is Cherry Blossoms from Flourishes.  I colored it with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I used the same stamp set on the inside of the card too.  The sentiments come from a Stampin Up set called Close as a Memory.  The paper is Stampin Up and Recollections.  I used Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing folder for the pink layer.  I was really happy with how this card turned out.  I hope it brings the family some comfort.

A challenge or two for my card:
Craft Us Crazy - flowers
Simon Says Stamp - april showers bring may flowers (I focused on the may flowers :)
Twisted Tuesdays - use flowers (no roses or rosettes)
House of Gilli - flowers
My Craft Spot - inside and out
2 Sisters - flowers

52 Weeks of Tags and Disney Week Project # 5

Happy Friday!   It is a lovely spring day here in Nova Scotia, I hope it is beautiful wherever you are.  Over at 52 Weeks of Tags, Janis challenged us to make a tag with a duck, or some other water creature - but, it is also Disney Week, so I wanted to be sure to stick with the animated character theme.  Here is what I came up with:

It is Ernie's rubber ducky from Sesame Street!  I cut him from Sesame Street Friends cartridge - hmm I think that's what it's called :)  I will be back later, just to double check!  The tag is from Plantin Schoolbook, the stamps from Simply Sweet and the paper and ribbon were both bought at Michael's.

I will be back later to see if I can find a challenge or two to play along with, but for now, I have to get my babies to eye doctor appointments.  See you later!

A challenge or two for my little tag:
52 Weeks of Tags - duck or water animal
Delightful Challenges - stitching (real or faux)
Colour Create Challenges - white, blue and yellow (hopefully it counts, those are the main colors...)

Disney Week - Minnie Card

Hi everyone, and welcome to Disney week!  This is not a hop... it is just a group of  crafters who have decided to  post Disney related projects on our sites this week (including Hello Kitty, Pixar, Pooh, Sesame Street, etc.) Some people might post a new project every day; others may only get a few projects out all week, but we will all be showcasing DISNEY (or some other animated character).

There is a link list at the bottom of this post of all the Disney crafters playing along. Feel free to visit us this week and be inspired.  Here is my first project:

My daughter's best friend had a birthday this week.  She just came home from Disney, so naturally, Minnie Mouse seemed the way to go.  She is cut from Mickey and Friends.  The paper is a mix of Stampin Up and Recollections.  The buttons are from Walmart and the sentiment stamp is form TPC Greetings, which I picked up on sale at my LSS.  I followed a sketch for this card - sketches are tricky for me, but I have been enjoying trying them, it pushes me out of my comfort zone a bit...

I will have another Disney project for you tomorrow - at least I hope I will :)  I plan to have a few hours in my craft room, let's hope that works out...

A challenge or two for my little card:
Stamps a Lot Challenge - birthday

Peachy Keen Bunny Basket

So,  I'm back with Easter post #2 - It;s a submission for this week's sketch challenge at Peachy Keen.  I am trying to enter this challenge every week - it encourages me to use all those cute PK faces all the time!  Here is what I came up with for this week's challenge:

Isn't it cute??  This cut is from Baby Steps - one of those cuts you wouldn't even know was there if you weren't looking at the book.  I used PK Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed for my bunny's cute face, doodled her up with my Sakura Jelly Roll pen, and VOILA!  A cute little card for my niece.  The paper is all from my scraps box.  I know I bought the Jelly Bean paper last year, but have no clue what company made it.  The sentiment stamp is from CTMH.

Peachy Keen - sketch
Glitter Geeks - easter
Raise the Bar - cutesy easter
Simply Create - eggs or bunnies
My Mum's Craft Shop - easter animals

Easter Chick

Happy Easter everyone!  I have two posts for today, before I get into my first Disney post.  I had every intention of posting both these projects yesterday, but it has been a busy weekend, so I haven't had a chance till now.  I made a number of Easter cards this year.  I will share two now, but the rest will wait until after Disney Week.  Here is the card I made for my son:

It is a window card.  I created her on my Gypsy, following a tutorial I saw on-line.  I will have to try to find it, so I can give credit!  I used the chick and egg from CAC and the scalloped card is welded together from Elegant Edges.  I welded the shadows of the chick and the egg to the front frame.  I love it, and think it's so so clever!  The sentiment stamp is from CTMH.  I used the face from PK Critter Faces - I think I may need to invest in something other than the medium set - maybe the large or extra large??

A challenge or two for my chickie card:
Fantabulous Cricut - project with an egg
Scrappy Frogs - shape card
Crafty Calendar - egg-stra special
Crazy 4 Challenges - blue, white and one other color (yellow is my other main color)
Aud Sentiments - "happy easter"

52 Weeks of Tags - April Showers

Happy Friday everyone!  It is challenge day at 52 Weeks of Tags.  This week Janis challenged us to make a tag celebrating April Showers.  April is one of my favorite months of the year.  My birthday is the 8th and my son's is the 25th, it often has Easter, and is, usually, the end of winter here in Nova Scotia, and winter is my least favorite season, so all in, lots to celebrate.   Here is my tag:

The tag is cut at 4.5 inches from Plantin Schoolbook.  I cut the girl from A Child's Year at 3 inches.  The ribbon is from Michaels.  The sentiment is from a Close to my Heart set.  I stamped some flourishes on the background paper.  They are from a CTMH set as well.  You can see the flourishes a little better in the picture below.

I hope you all hop over to Pause Dream Enjoy, see what the DT came up with, and play along with us.  Tags are so fun and rewarding to make, they come together so quickly!

A few challenges for my little tag:
Paper Playtime - umbrella cut
Paper Pretties - april showers
Victorine Challenges - april showers
Crafting for all Seasons - april showers
Inky Impressions - april showers

Peachy Keen Candy Basket

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Sorry things have been a little quiet here over the past few days, I loaned a friend my laptop last week, and only just got it back about 2 hours ago.  Today, I decided to play along in Peachy Keen's Challenge, and am squeaking in under the wire.  The challenge was to make a candy holder.  Here is what I came up with:

I decided to make my daughter a little Easter basket.  The handle of the basket used my Threading Water punch and that cute little pink and white bunny paper was just sitting in my Scrap box.  I cut the bunny from Birthday Bash and stamped her face with Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed from Peachy Keen.  I drew in some whiskers, doodled with my Sakura jelly roll and gave her pink ears and pink paws.   The sentimetn is from Simply Sweet Stamps.  I decided to use some twine to give her a little bow.  I think she is really cute :)
Tomorrow I am going to make a little basket for my son.  I think I may make one with a chick....

I will be back tomorrow to play along with some challenges, but for now, I need to go to bed!  I have had 5 hours sleep since Monday morning at 6 am, and my bed is calling my name!   Thanks for dropping by!!
